“The Scarborough Masterplan envisions to connect the  natural landscape, sea frontage and user network through collaborative spaces in the heart of the community.”

Strategic networking and connectivity can contribute to the vitality of the public realm. The activation of the seafront can enhance leisure, cultural experience and recreational pursuits. Scarborough should aim to embrace its environment through the introduction of a vibrant mix of streets, footpaths and open nodal spaces attracting the local community and the visitors with year-round facilities. The town can be reinvented as a future tourist destination to enhance service sector jobs and high-density modern mixed-use development. This will result in potential investment and capitalistic opportunities for the town’s existing harbour. It aspires for a long-term vision of having built forms and open spaces; where the community can celebrate locally sourced food fish and its outstanding nautical views.
